Birthday Party FAQs

• Can I drop my child at a Luna Park Party or do I need to stay with them?

  It’s up to you!

  If your child is attending a Luna Park Birthday Party and is in our Yellow height category (132cm+) then you are welcome to leave them at the Party as they can go on any of our rides by themselves (with the Birthday Child/Party Parent). If they fall into our Red (85cm – 106cm) or Green (106cm – 132cm) height category they will need an accompanying adult on many of our rides, and therefore you will need to stay and ride with them for your child to access the full Luna Park experience.  

  Please note one adult cannot accompany multiple children, and you must have a rides pass to accompany them. Your Party Parent (Party Organiser) can add extra rides passes for you and other accompanied adults for this purpose, at the special discounted Party price (pre-order only). 

• I have arrived early to the party and the Birthday Child/Party Parent is not here yet. What do I do?

  Wristbands for the Birthday Party are to be collected by the Party Parent ONLY. Wristbands will be issued for the whole Party to the Party Parent only. If the Party Parent is yet to arrive, we welcome you to walk through the Park and enjoy the ambience, before making arrangements to meet your Party Parent and collect your wristband from them. 

• I am late to the Party, where can I go? What do I do?

  If you are late to the Party, we encourage you to locate the Birthday Child/Party Parent for the Birthday Party you are attending. Your Party Parent will be able to issue you with wristbands for party guests.

  Party wristbands are valid for the entire day, so if you arrive late to the Party you can still collect yours and get in on the fun straight away! 

  However, if the Birthday Party you are attending has a booking at Luna Lounge for the time you arrive, you should head straight there for this part of the experience (if it is within the allocated Party Room Booking window). If you miss this time entirely, we cannot extend the end of the reservation. However, we do have a number of food outlets throughout the Park with delicious meals catering to dietary restrictions for purchase.  

• Where do I get my wristband?

  Wristbands for Birthday Parties will only be issued to the Party Parent hosting the Birthday Party. Party Parents will be able to collect them from the Retail Shop when they arrive (on the right as you enter through the Face). Party Parents can pick these up from when the Park opens, and need to be sure to do this at least 30 minutes before a Luna Lounge reservation time if they booked the Ultimate Celebration Package. 

  Party Guests (attendees) need to collect their wristband from the Party Parent only. Please attach to your wristband to your RIGHT wrist once collected. Wristbands are strictly non transferrable and must be worn to be valid. We encourage Party Attendees to locate the Party Parent to access their wristband. 

• My child is attending a Party and has dietary considerations. What do I do?

  You can contact your Party Parent and they will have an opportunity to select meals according to dietary considerations at the time of booking or in the lead up to the Party. Changes can unfortunately not be accepted on Party day – if so, an additional meal may need to be purchased. The meals of alternate dietary considerations offered are:  

  • Chicken Nuggets and Chips (Halal, Nut-Free, Dairy-Free)
  • Rotisserie Chicken and Salad (Halal, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free)
  • Vegetable Samosas and Chips (Vegetarian, Dairy-Free)

• Where can I leave my gift?

  Luna Park Sydney won’t be able to collect or store Gifts for Birthday Parties, on behalf of the Attendee or the Birthday Child/Party Parent. We recommend gifting your gift direct to the Birthday child or parent on arrival or you can use one of our lockers available in the park. 

• Is Parking included if I am just dropping my child off for a Party?

  Parking is not included in our Party packages. You can view our parking prices or alternative forms of transport here.

• My child is Green Height (106cm – 132cm) and attending a Party at Luna Park. What does this mean for them and riding with their friends?

  This means for many of our rides they will need an accompanying adult. You can view what these rides are here. We strongly encourage you to stay and ride with them so they can get the full experience. In this instance, you will need your own rides pass, which can be added on by your Party Parent for the discounted party price (if they elect to purchase and pre-order). Alternatively additional ride passes can be purchased from the Front Ticket Box of Luna Park . Please note an adult cannot count as accompanying multiple children.

• I am an adult attending the Party to supervise Party attendees. Can I accompany children on rides?

  Yes, with a valid unlimited rides pass only, adults are welcome to accompany a children on rides. This includes access to Coney Island. Please note that standard Park Height Rules apply. If a child falls in the red or green height categories, they will require an accompanying adult PER child. Adults (with a ride pass) can not escort multiple children.
  Adults without a valid ride pass can not accompany child/ren on rides OR enter Coney Island.

  Adult ride passes can be purchased as part of the party packages OR from the front ticket box (standard ride pass terms and conditions apply – wristbands are not transferrable).
  

• How do I book a birthday party at Luna Park Sydney?

  We’ve made booking easier than ever! You simply click here and book at Party and purchase add-ons in a matter of minutes! To book a party you simply need 10+ children including the birthday child attending.

• What do your Party packages include?

  There are two packages available at Luna Park Sydney to suit your needs!

  • The Ultimate Celebration Package - $54 per child
  • The Confetti Package - $34 per child

• Where can I ask my Guests to meet our Party?

  You can meet your guests at the Park wherever suits you – we suggest outside our iconic Face as it’s easy for everyone to find! 

  We recommend arriving earlier than the time you advise your Guests, to allow you plenty of time to collect the wristbands for your Party and drop off your cake if you have opted to BYO. 

  Please note that if you are hosting a Confetti Package Party you are not able to reserve spaces or tables throughout Luna Park. However, you are welcome to utilise dining spaces (if purchasing from related food outlets) or Lavender Green picnic area as required with your attendees present. 

  Please note that if you are hosting the Ultimate Celebration Package, the time you selected online is for the food service to commence in LUNA LOUNGE. It is strongly recommended that you arrive ahead of your Guests to Luna Park to collect wristbands, and that your Guests arrive at least 30mins prior to your allocated time inside Luna Lounge – allowing enough time for you to group together ahead of the meal service. 

• What is the time slot I choose for my Ultimate Celebration package for?

  This time slot you selected when making your Birthday Party Reservation is the time slot for your table reservation in our exclusive party venue, Luna Lounge. This venue sits on the harbour and is the perfect spot for your Party meal and to sing happy birthday, plus cake of course! Guests must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to this booking to collect wristbands beforehand. 

  Please note that your reservation inside Luna Lounge is for 45 minutes only. This is a strict booking that can not be adjusted or extended. We recommend ensuring all your Guests have arrived and are with you ahead of this booking time. 

  You can collect wristbands before this allotted time and go on rides as soon as we open, as well as afterwards. We encourage you define your own party hours around this allocated time – this is just the meal + room allocation period. 

• Where do my guests pick up their wristbands?

  Your Guests collect their wristbands from YOU as the Party Parent/Host. You will need to collect your wristbands from the Retail Shop, located on the right as you enter the Park through the Face. Please allocate your wristbands only to Party Guests/Attendees that you are knowingly paying for and have allocated for in your final attendee count. 
  Please instruct Guests to attach to their RIGHT wrist. Wristbands are only valid when worn by Guests and are strictly non-transferrable. 

  Please ensure that if you have a Luna Lounge booking (Ultimate Celebration Package) you collect wristbands at least 30 minutes prior to your booking time and have allocated to all of your Guests prior to entering Luna Lounge. 

• What time can I arrive at Luna Park?

  Your party package includes UNLIMITED RIDES for all party guests ALL DAY. That means you can have your party arrive from when we open and stay until we close if you choose to.

  The only key time is your table reservation at Luna Lounge if you booked the Ultimate Celebration Package. You must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to this time to collect wristbands, otherwise, feel free to choose the time that suits you.

• Guests have arrived with more family/friends and want more wristbands. What can we do?

  IN ADVANCE - As a Party Parent, you do have the option to add tickets to your booking at a reduced rate of $34 for children and $54 for adults. This is offered in advance only as part of your Party Booking, and can not be actioned on the day. We recommend utilising this ticket offer for additional adults to ride with children (red or green height) to ensure your party runs smoothly for all. They are also great for extra siblings or Guests of your Party Guests. 

  ON THE DAY – Simply direct any additional Guests willing to purchase a Park ticket to the Front Ticket Box, where they will be able to purchase their tickets for the day. Please note, that a wristband is a rides pass to access rides in the Park. It does not allow for extra meals or Party add-ons inside Luna Lounge (for Guests of an Ultimate Celebration Package). 

• Can I bring my own cake and where can I drop off the cake?

  IN ADVANCE - As a Party Parent, you do have the option to add tickets to your booking at a reduced rate of $34 for children and $54 for adults. This is offered in advance only as part of your Party Booking, and can not be actioned on the day. We recommend utilising this ticket offer for additional adults to ride with children (red or green height) to ensure your party runs smoothly for all. They are also great for extra siblings or Guests of your Party Guests. 

  ON THE DAY – Simply direct any additional Guests willing to purchase a Park ticket to the Front Ticket Box, where they will be able to purchase their tickets for the day. Please note, that a wristband is a rides pass to access rides in the Park. It does not allow for extra meals or Party add-ons inside Luna Lounge (for Guests of an Ultimate Celebration Package). 

  Yes, you are very welcome to bring your own birthday cake!*

  Confetti Party Package:

  Drop your cake off at Hungry Horse express (on the left out the front of Coney Island) from 10am until close. 

  Ultimate Celebration Package:

  Drop off your cake at the check-in desk (in the Retail Shop). Your party host will ensure your cake is delivered to your party table in Luna Lounge. On request, Luna Park will provide cutlery, candles, and the necessary arrangements to make the cake presentation special. Remember we offer an ultra-creamy artisan gelato cake as an add-on if you’d prefer not to bring your own! 

  Note: Please be allergy aware. Luna Park takes no responsibility for BYO birthday cake allergen contents. We strongly recommend checking the dietary requirements of your guests.

  *We cannot store ice-cream cakes, we apologise for the inconvenience. You can however add-on an ice-cream cake as part of the Ultimate Celebration package.

• What meals are included in the Ultimate Celebration Party Package?

  Each child (under 17) booked into the Ultimate Celebration Party Package as an attendee will receive one meal serving.

  Meals are pre-selected during booking.

  Meal options: 

  • Chicken Nuggets and Chips (Halal, Nut-Free, Dairy-Free)
  • Rotisserie Chicken and Salad (Halal, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free)

  These options cater to various dietary preferences and restrictions, ensuring that each child can enjoy a meal suited to their needs. The inclusion of halal, nut-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian choices demonstrates a commendable commitment to accommodating diverse requirements.

• How many meals can I select for the Ultimate Celebration Packages?

  In the Ultimate Celebration Package, each child is entitled to one meal, with a limit of one meal per child. It is crucial to ensure that the number of meal orders matches the number of children attending the party. For instance, if there are 12 kids attending, there should be 12 included meals selected to ensure each child receives a meal. This helps in ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated dining experience for all the children.

  However, if you want more food you’re in luck – the Ultimate Celebration Package is super customisable and you can add on food as needed! You will need to pay for each item added outside of the allocated package. 

• Can I get additional meals on the day while inside Luna Lounge?

  Yes! Thanks to the customisable nature of our package, you can add extra food for adults, extra children, or if you want some different options! Available options include:

  • Fruit Platter 
  • Antipasto Platter 
  • Rotisserie Chicken & Salad (Serves 1)
  • Nuggets & Chips (Serves 1)
  • Margherita Pizza (Large - perfect for adults, with 8 slices) 
  • Ham & Pineapple Pizza (Large - perfect for adults, with 8 slices).

• I have guest/s attending my Party who have dietary considerations I didn’t know about. What can I do?

  Please reach out to our Party team at parties@lunaparksydney.com and we can adjust accordingly in advance only. Changes to dietaries and menus can’t be amended on the day.

  Selected items will be for sale on the day as an incremental purchase which can assist with ensuring all Guests are catered to.  

• Can I bring my own food to my Party?

  Yes, we allow any Luna Park Sydney guests to bring their own food into the Park (Park only – not into Luna Lounge). 

  If you booked the Confetti package you can bring your own food to Luna Park, or eat at one of our delicious food outlets which cater to a number of dietary restrictions. However, Luna Park Sydney is not able to store or refrigerate food items for you. Additionally, please refrain from reserving seating and table spaces in the Park. 
  We encourage you to consider utilising the picnic tables and shade available on Lavender Green (located behind Luna Land).  

  If you booked the Ultimate Celebration Package all the food you will need for your Guests and Attendees is either included in the package or available for purchase inside Luna Lounge. External food is not allowed to be brought into or consumed in Luna Lounge. However, should you elect to bring additional food items for your Guests to consume in the Park whilst you are outside enjoying the rides you are welcome to do so, however no storage will be supplied by Luna Park Sydney as part of your Party Booking. 

• Can I get additional rides passes?

  Luna Park offers the special birthday party rate ride passes for additional adults and kids attending a birthday party. The ride passes for adults are priced at $54, while the additional ride passes for kids cost $34 if purchased in advance as part of your Party Booking only. 

  IN ADVANCE - As a Party Parent, you do have the option to add tickets to your booking at a reduced rate of $34 for children and $54 for adults. This is offered in advance only as part of your Party Booking, and can not be actioned on the day. • How old is an adult?

  17 years or older is classified as an adult for the purpose of a Party Booking. We don’t accept bookings for Party Guests aged older than 17 years. 

• Can we make changes to our booking?

  We are here to help!

  If any changes to your online booking are required, contact our party team via email at parties@lunaparksydney.com 

  To ensure a smooth planning process, Luna Park requires final guest numbers and all party details to be confirmed minimum 10 days prior to the party. Adhering to this deadline helps in organising the party effectively and ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place.

• Can my child or Party Attendees use their Annual Pass?

  No, Annual Passes are not valid for private special events, birthday parties, ticketed events or events that require a separate admission.

• Are the passes valid all day?

  Yes! Wristbands for party guests are valid all day for UNLIMITED RIDES all day. This means you can have a fun-filled experience from when we open to when we close.

• Is there any cake included with the Ultimate Celebration Package?

  The Luna Park Ice Cream Cake is available as an optional add-on for Ultimate Celebration Package parties (not included in package, and not available for Confetti Party packages). 

  The Luna Park Ice Cream Cake is ultra creamy artisanal gelato in a bubblegum flavour, serves approximately 10-14 people and has dimensions of 28cm wide x 9cm deep x 8cm high.

  Otherwise, you can BYO cake and we will store it and serve it during your Luna Lounge reservation for you! 

• What happens in wet weather conditions?

  Luna Park is just as much fun in the rain! 

  The park will continue to operate during wet weather, only in extreme high wind or lightning conditions may some rides be temporarily suspended.

  Refunds or exchanges will not be granted if your session goes ahead. As the majority of the experience is outdoors, we do suggest you bring rain jackets with you.

• I am an adult attending the Party to supervise Party attendees. Can I accompany children on rides?

• Can I bring my own decorations?

  Decorations are not able to be brought into Luna Park Sydney or Luna Lounge.

• What is your cancellation policy?

  Full payment is required at the time of booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this payment has been received.

  Payment is non-refundable. Luna Park is unable to issue partial or full refunds. Management discretion applies.
